yoga @ hepburn retreat centre
We hold regular yoga classes in our carpeted Yoga Room. Most yoga classes are available to guests, locals and to the wider public. Over time there has been a mix of grades from beginners to general to more dynamic classes; a meditation is often included. Classes are of one or one and a half hours duration.

yoga teachers
Hepburn Retreat Centre yoga teachers are committed to developing their own yoga practices at the centre. The teachers draw from their personal experience and integration of the diverse range of styles they have encountered over their years of training and practice. A common theme is the dedication and wholistic approach each has to their craft and their continuing pursuit of knowledge with on going practice and attendance at workshops.
Zalan Glen
Zalan has been gradually refining his instruction since completing an intensive ISHTA (Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra and Ayerveda) teacher training program designed to assist individuals on their own yoga journey. Casual classes over the last few years has seen a focus arise for slower flowing forms, allowing an exploration of the subtle body. Developing presence through integration of the breath with asanas, is to practise self enquiry. By practising yoga together, we make available the opportunity to discover more of 'who we are.
ostii ananda
Ostii teaches a flowing vinyasa practice for grounding, strength and stability. He focuses on acceptance and nurturing of one's own body and being, incorporating massage and self-healing techniques of Oki-do yoga. He promotes mindfulness, chanting, pranayama, right diet and community relationship as the foundations of a strong yoga practice.
He has been practising yoga for ten years and teaching for eight, studying with teachers in Australia, India and Europe. Through training in Postural Integration - a deep tissue, holistic bodywork, and studies in anatomy, advaita, tantra and contemporary shamanism, Ostii has broadened his approach to yoga as a path to open, liberate and integrate body, heart and mind.
larch
Larch draws from 17 years experience as a yoga teacher (and five years Chi Kung), to teach classes accessible to newcomers and those with more experience. She offers a wide range of yoga techniques to help:
- develop breath, flexibility, strength and fitness
- encourage natural balance
- deepen awareness
People are supported to develop their own practice. Emphasis is on enjoyment of physicality and self-care.
