about the retreat facilitators

Julia’s love and affinity with yoga began 20 years ago. With a background in fitness and the desire to find a practice that integrates whole health and well being the discovery of yoga changed her life and her career path. As a teacher, and an ongoing student, Julia enjoys the privilege of sharing her passion - the art, science and philosophy of yoga, with her many students who continue to inspire her. Julia teaches Hatha style classes around the Melbourne CBD in gyms, corporate companies, hospitals and universities and runs workshops throughout the year in a studio in Richmond. She holds an Advanced Diploma of Teacher Training with the Yoga Institute of Australia and is a member of Yoga Teachers Association Australia.

Sandra helps students discover their full potential through the practice of yoga. Using a heart-centred approach to teaching she integrates the physical, mental and energetic aspects of yoga with a particular focus on co-ordinating mindful movement with the breath in a dynamic-hatha based practice. As an eternal student Sandra has sought teachings from leading yoga practitioners around the world and is influenced primarily by the Krishnamcharya lineage of teachers including Iyengar and Desikachar. She holds an Advanced Diploma of Yoga Teaching (Council of Adult Education & The Australian Institute of Yoga). She has been teaching classes and workshops for several years which are informed by more than 15 years of her own practice.
