Welcome to July at Hepburn Retreat Centre. We have been blessed with an abundance of water here over the last months and look forward to more as we head into spring.
In this month's edition, you have the opportunity to win a weekend escape, by answering a few questions about our website.
We are also looking for a live-in operations manager. I will be staying on in my capacity as retreat centre manager, but in October, moving to a new home that Kim and I have bought in Sailors Falls.
Finally, I am still hoping for a few more people for our Clean Up Hepburn Regional Park afternoon in August. There are 13 people committed already and I am sure many more are still to respond.

our seeds: seeds Blong yumi
Hepburn Relocalisation Network presents -
In September 2008 Seed Savers released “Our Seeds: Seeds Blong Yumi”, a 57 minute documentary that celebrates traditional food plants and the people that grow them.
It features Pacific islanders who face great challenges of their innumerable varieties of root staples being replaced with modern hybrids that require pesticides and chemical fertilisers and the importation of low-quality starch with the threat of their own resilient food crops being lost.

clean up hepburn regional park

Anyone who has been walking in Hepburn Regional Park near the retreat centre, will have noticed the rusting cans, broken glass and other rubbish strewn throughout the bush.
Join us on Saturday afternoon, the 21st August from 1.30 - 3.30pm, to help begin the clean up.
Chai and afternoon tea will be provided.
Stay for chanting, the vegan banquet, and/or the night if it suits you.
